Under 25 and on your Ls? Your first 10 hours with a licensed NSW instructor count triple, so 10 lessons put 30 hours in your logbook. Plan your 120 hours

Plan your 120 hours

Under 25? Before the driving test you need 120 logbook hours, including 20 at night, and 12 months on your Ls. Put in your numbers to see what’s left and when you could sit it.

Here’s the usual maths: 10 lessons with Evan put 30 hours in your logbook, and the Safer Drivers Course adds 20 once you’ve driven 50 yourself. That leaves 70 hours to drive with your family. Text Evan on 0431 327 668 and he’ll help you plan the rest.

Prices

One simple rate: $90 an hour, with pick-up and drop-off included. If you’re logging hours, Evan records your 3-for-1 bonus at the end of each lesson.

You pay by card when you book. If Evan can’t do your time, you get a full refund.

Gift vouchers are available for any lesson. Call or text Evan to arrange one.

Need to move or cancel? Give at least 24 hours’ notice for a free change or a full refund.

Meet Evan

Evan Haddad, driving instructor, smiling, in a navy blazer and white shirt
Evan HaddadLicensed NSW driving instructor

Evan teaches every lesson himself, so the person who sees your first wobbly turn is the same one who gets you ready for test day.

Lessons start where you are. For a first drive, that’s a quiet street and a lot of explaining. When you’re nearly ready, it’s merging onto the Princes Motorway, peak-hour traffic into Wollongong and the roundabouts that catch people out.

Every lesson ends with a plain summary: what went well, and what to practise with your family before next time.

  • Licensed driving instructorLicensed by Transport for NSW, which is what makes your hours count triple.

  • Dual-control carA second brake on Evan’s side, so you can concentrate on learning.

From Ls to Ps

How it works in NSW if you’re under 25, and where Evan helps.

25 or older? You don’t need a logbook or a minimum time on your Ls. Pass the Hazard Perception Test, then book the driving test when you’re ready.

  1. Get your Ls

Pass the Driver Knowledge Test. You need to be 16 or older.

With Evan: your first lesson can be the week you get your licence.

  2. Log 120 hours

Including 20 at night, over at least 12 months on your Ls.

With Evan: your first 10 hours with him count triple.

  3. Pass the Hazard Perception Test

A computer-based test you can book once you’ve had your Ls for 10 months.

With Evan: he points out hazards on every drive until you spot them first.

  4. Pass the driving test

At 17 or older, with a fully licensed driver along on the day.

With Evan: a mock test on local roads, then his car on the day.

  5. Drive solo on red Ps

For at least 12 months. Pass in an automatic and you can drive only automatics until your green Ps.

  6. Move to green Ps

For at least 2 years, then your full licence.

Test day

Sit your driving test in Evan’s car, after a warm-up on the roads around your test centre.

What to bring

  • Your learner licence
  • A completed licence application form (PDF, opens in a new tab)
  • Your logbook, with 120 hours, 20 learning goals and the signed declaration. Using Roundtrip? Submit it at least 48 hours before.
  • Glasses or contact lenses, if you need them to drive
  • A card to pay for your new licence, as some centres don’t take cash
  1. Pick-up

About 90 minutes before your test, from home, school or work.

  2. Warm-up drive

An hour on the roads around the test centre, with time for anything you want one more go at.

  3. Check-in

At least 15 minutes early, as Service NSW asks, with your paperwork ready.

  4. Your test

In Evan’s car, which is registered, roadworthy and keeps its safety systems switched on, as the test requires. Evan waits nearby.

  5. Home

Evan gets you home either way. If the test doesn’t go your way, you can’t drive off on your own, so having him there matters.

Questions

Anything else, call Evan and ask.

How does online booking work?

Enter your suburb to check you’re within Evan’s 17-minute area, choose a lesson and a time, add your details and licence, then pay by card. Evan confirms every booking himself, usually within a few hours. If he can’t do it, you get a full refund.

Book a lesson

What do I need to book?

The learner’s licence number and expiry date, their date of birth, a pick-up address, and a parent or guardian’s details if they’re under 18. A photo of the licence is optional, but it helps Evan check everything before the lesson.

Will I get an invoice?

Yes. Every paid booking gets its own invoice number. It’s shown when you finish booking and emailed to you as a PDF.

Do lessons with Evan count triple in my logbook?

Yes, if you’re under 25 and logging hours. Your first 10 hours with a licensed NSW instructor count as 3 hours each, which is up to 20 bonus hours. If a lesson is after dark, the hour you drive counts as night driving and its bonus hours count as day driving.

Read the official logbook rules (opens in a new tab)

How many lessons will I need?

It depends on how much you drive between lessons. If you’re under 25, ten is a good number to aim for, because that’s how many count triple. After your first lesson, Evan will tell you honestly where you’re at.

Is Evan’s car automatic? Can I learn manual?

Evan teaches in an automatic. If you pass your test in an automatic, you can drive only automatics on your red Ps. That condition comes off when you move to your green Ps.

Can I do my driving test in Evan’s car?

Yes. The test day package includes a warm-up drive, the car for your test and the drive home. You need a fully licensed driver with you at the test anyway, and Evan covers that.

What do I bring to a lesson?

Your learner licence, any glasses or contacts you need to drive, and flat, comfortable shoes. Bring your logbook, or have the Roundtrip app on your phone, so the lesson gets recorded.

I’m really nervous. Is that okay?

Completely. Evan starts nervous drivers on quiet streets and goes at your pace. His brake pedal means he can slow or stop the car if he needs to, so you can focus on learning.

I have an overseas licence. Can Evan help?

Yes. Depending on where your licence is from, you may need to pass the driving test to get a NSW licence, and you can sit it without getting a learner licence first. A 90-minute lesson is the best place to start: Evan will check your driving against NSW road rules and what testers look for.

Where do lessons start and finish?

Wherever suits you within about 17 minutes’ drive of Horsley: home, school, uni or work. Evan can drop you somewhere different from where he picked you up. See the suburbs

Can a parent come along?

Yes. Sitting in the back for a lesson is a good way to see what to practise at home.

What about the Safer Drivers Course?

It’s run by approved course providers. You can do it once you’ve driven 50 hours, not counting bonus hours, and it adds 20 hours to your logbook.

How do I pay, and what if I need to cancel?

You pay by card when you book, through Stripe’s secure checkout, so your card details never touch this website. You can save your card with Stripe to book faster next time.

Give at least 24 hours’ notice for a free change or a full refund. If Evan can’t do your time or has to cancel, you get a full refund.

Do you sell gift vouchers?

Yes, for any lesson. Call or text Evan on 0431 327 668 to arrange one.
